The Harvey Cartel was formed in Ottawa, Canada in 2008 by Chris Landry. After touring Australia and Asia with an alt-country band, Chris returned to Canada and set to work recruiting musicians for his new project. It began as a simple rock band until the banjo was thrown into the mix, and the Cartel was complete. Different musical backgrounds, including blues, country, folk, and punk helped to create the Harvey Cartel's sound.

Hard work and dedication to their craft have garnered the Cartel a solid following in a short period of time. They have been gigging steadily in Ottawa for over a year, cutting their teeth in reknowned Ottawa venues like The Rainbow and Zaphod Beeblebrox. The band has also been on the road to Toronto, Windsor and Quebec in support of their newly recorded album.

Oh yea....(yawning, and stretching arms out behind back)....fresh off the highway for the last two weekends with stops in a few great cities and towns....some far, some near, some mountainous, some urban, some killer, some thriller....And boy are we glad to be outta that car!!

We managed to sneak in a last minute gig at Greenfield's in Barrhaven last night!  Thanks to everybody who could make it out!  So, onto the Spring Music Festival in Hamilton this coming Friday for a great time I'm sure.  And don't forget about our upcoming dates in Ottawa, May 15th at The Rainbow, and June 12th at The Atomic Rooster.  Lots of great music going on here so don't miss out!  Cheers.
